Shirt to Card

When my coworker walked into work and I saw this shirt I had a card forming in my head!  She thought I was a little nuts when I asked if I could take a picture of her shirt.  Once I showed her the card she is now searching her closets for more ideas!

Here is the shirt:

And here is the card:

I knew I wanted to use the flower from Flourishing Phrases but I was not sure how I would get the outline.  I modified the "No Line Watercoloring Technique".   I stamped lightly with  Sahara Sand stamping off many times and then outlined it with an Early Espresso marker.   I also used the "ROCK N ROLL" technique where you ink in light color and roll just the edges in a darker color. I wanted line image leaves, so I grabbed those from Free As A Bird and added the dots from Waterfront.  The words are on 2 layers of the punch, the white layer trimmed down to show the one behind.

Stamp-A-Stack Card Two

This card featured one of our new stamp set Friend Like You.  I knew I had to have this set, I love cattails and I have some real beach lovers in my family!  The dies that go with this set we did not use here but they are amazing and we will be using them soon.  The vellum added just the right punch to this card.

Stamp-A-Stack Card One

Here is the card I took from the Shoebox swap and switched it up to fit the new Scalloped Notecards the Balmy Blue notecard is great for a sky background!

Shoebox Swap Cards 7-8

These last cards were inspired from a Make-n-Take at the convention in April.  All of the use our new Colored Vellum Cardstock.  This should be a must on your wish list.

One of the cards is mine!  Here is the original:  Flirty Flamingo on the vellum takes a bit to dry!

Here was my swap the flower with the middle, the leaves, and the words are Clear Embossed.

This was the other card, no stamping on the flowers just punch from the vellum and use a bone folder to curl and make the lines.

A close up of the lines!

You can see in this photo the difference of using the front or the back of the paper.  Top left uses both sides, top right the darker slicker side, the bottom the lighter side.  So many ways to change up this paper!

Shoebox Swap Cards 5-6

These two ladies had brought similar cards, I took one set home and used Color Pencils with the blender pen, so you could see the difference between Blends and Color Pencils.  Both great tools!

Pencils and blender pen, I also colored a bit of the backgound to make the birds stand out.

Blends markers plus some ribbon and another layer of card stock.

Both great cards!
